How it works
Simple for talent. Serious for agents.
laowai吗 is built around one loop: a real profile, a verified counterpart, a clear application, a private chat and an honest rating at the end.

01
Build your profile
Photos, languages, experience and availability. Takes ten minutes, works for every application.
02
Verify once
A private ID check unlocks applying. Your document is never shown to anyone outside our review team.
03
Apply or get invited
Applying costs one Connect, which keeps spam out. Agents can also invite you to a specific gig.
04
Chat, work, rate
Talk in a private chat, get the job done, then rate each other blind.
Two ways in
Whether you're booking or being booked, it starts here.
For agents & brands
Find the right people without the group-chat chaos.

China is big. Start with your city.
Most work is local. Filter by the city you live in, or the one you're willing to travel to.
- 01
Verified identities
Talent verify with an ID check. Agents join with a vetted invitation key before they can post.
- 02
Your documents stay private
ID documents live in a locked store, are viewed only through audited, short-lived links, and are deleted after review.
- 03
Connects stop spam
Applications and invitations cost a Connect, so people only reach out when they mean it.
- 04
Contact details are shared by choice
Phone numbers and WeChat IDs are filtered out of profiles, gigs, applications and invitations. In a private chat, each person decides whether to send their contact card.
- 05
Report and block in two taps
Use Report on any profile, gig or chat; reports go to our moderation team. Blocking someone stops their messages and invitations.
- We never claim anyone is “safe”. We verify identities, vet agents and act on reports. Your judgement still matters.
Connects
Reaching out costs a little, so it means something.
Connects are anti-spam credits, not a currency. You earn them by building a trustworthy profile, spend one when you apply or invite, and get them back when an invitation goes unanswered.
